Winsted Youth Soccer Board***

Volunteering is a crucial part of what make the Recreation Department and all our town sports successful. It is even more important now that the Recreation Director's position has been drastically cut. There are many dedicated people who support this, however, this number is starting to dwindle. We thank the many people who are already volunteering, however, there are always more needed, especially coaches. The kids wouldn't be able to learn and play if there isn't someone to step up to guide them. Anyone who is interested should call the Recreation Director or any of the WYSA board members.

Don't forget about Travel Soccer. Travel is not as intimidating as it sounds. Travel consists of 2 practices a week and 1 game on Saturday's. Half of the games are at home and the other half our in other towns. Away games are anywhere from 5 minutes to 40 minutes away. If transportation is a concern there are always other parents that can assist. Typically the team will meet and ride together, like a convoy. Most of the other parents have plenty of room and are more than happy to help any kids that need a ride. In addition to needing the kids to play we also greatly need coaches for these teams. If you are interested in coaching or your child is interested in playing Travel, please contact the Recreation Director or any of the WYSA board members.

He will be assisting our coaches as well as children. There is an updated curriculum that will be extra fun for the players while also building soccer skills appropriate for the players age group. This new curriculum will also incorporate more family participation, especially for our youngest players.

If we house the coach in town our club will get the most benefit from our professional UEFA UK International coach.

It is one week minimum. The only requirements are to give him a roof over his head, a place to shower and a place to do his laundry.
