Equipment Swap

For those of you not familiar with the Equipment Swap, let us explain:

Since most of our kids grow out of their Cleats and Shin Guards before they even break them in, the Equipment Swap helps eleviate the cost of having to buy them new every year.  We take gently used equipment, clean it up and make it available to all our players.  The ideal is that you drop off your outgrown equipment in exchange for the new.  However, that is not a requirement.

To drop off equipment:
Bring to registration events
Bring to Kickoff
Drop off at the Rec. Dept.

To receive equipment:
At registration events
At Kickoff
The first few days of the season one or both of our equipment managers will have a table set up at the field during games.

Travel Registration and what is Required

The Travel league is seperate from the Recreation league and has different rules and requirements.  The Travel league is registered with CJSA (Connecticut Junior Soccer Association - Northwest District) and coordinated by them.  The required items on our registration form is to meet their rules and requirements.  This will explain why each thing is required.

Official Birth Cert - This is required so that CJSA can verify that you are the age that you are stating you are.   Only a copy is required. It has to be one of the two official versions that have the notary stamp- the large full page and the small yellow wallet.  The ones the hospital give with the feet stamps does not count as an official birth cert and will not be accepted.

Photo - This is required to go on the player pass.  The laminated player passes are carried by the coach and have the name and picture of the child, what team they are registered for, what season they are registered for, and what their assigned ID number is.  These passes are verified by the referees at the start of every game to verify that only registered\approved players are playing that game.

Signature of Player - This is also required for the player pass.  This signature gets cut off of the registration form and pasted to the player pass.

Email - CJSA has a new registration system and in order to utilize it correctly it requires an email address of one of the parents.  Eventually registration will be able to be done on line and the email address is how each parent's account will be set up.  WYSA is not ready to use it that way and until we are ready WYSA will have to enter the email address.  This is only required for Travel.

The district registrar will not complete the passes and rosters until all of these items have been met.  If any are missing the entire team will be held up.

The WYSA Registrar greatly appreciates your help with submitting all this information and getting the registration form and all supporting documentation in early.
It is very time consuming to get each teams rosters set up and player passes created and mailed off to the district registrar.  That is why Travel registrations have to be in so much earlier.

On April 6th,2009 the WYSA board signed and packaged residual soccer balls for a charity called "Kick for Nick".  It is in honor of service man Nick Madaras who was killed in the line of duty. For more information on this charity see the website: kickfornick.org
Thanks to all who helped!!
